Ebikes are bicycles with a battery-powered “assist” that comes from pedaling or a throttle. When you push the pedals on a pedal-assist e-bike, or twist the throttle, a small motor engages and gives you a boost. Also referred to as “pedelecs,” they feel just like conventional bikes - only better, giving you a feeling of power and acceleration! With an ebike, the hills just disappear.
Yes! Although you first need to know how to ride a bike, many people find them easier to ride than regular bikes because they give you that boost of power to start off. If you can ride a bike, you can ride an ebike!
No, but it is a bike. Our ebikes have a twist throttle that can be used with or without pedaling. The Pedal Assist System (PAS) senses when you are pedaling and adds power to the rear wheel based on the assist level you choose.
Ebikes are limited to 20 mph electric assist in compliance with Indiana Class 2 ebike laws. Our ebikes have a 750W geared hub/direct-drive motor powered by a 48V, 14 Ah (672 Wh) removable Lithium-Ion battery pack with an expected range between 25-45 miles on a single charge. Your distance will vary, depending on the level of pedal assist, terrain, and rider size.
Class 1: Bicycle equipped with a motor that provides assistance only when the rider is pedaling, and that ceases to provide assistance when the e-bike reaches 20 mph.
Class 2: Bicycle equipped with a throttle-actuated motor, and that ceases to provide assistance when the e-bike reaches 20 mph.
Class 3: Bicycle equipped with a motor that provides assistance only when the rider is pedaling, and that ceases to provide assistance when the e-bike reaches 28 mph.

Riders come in all shapes, sizes, and abilities. And so do ebikes. All of our bikes are available in the Step-thru style so that more riders can enjoy the fun and comfort of an ebike. Our most popular model is the Rad City Step-thru. Check-out all of our available bikes to help decide which bike is best for you!
Both the RadCity and the RadRover have a maximum capacity of 275 lbs. The RadRunner has a maximum combined passenger and payload capacity of 300 lbs. The passenger seat is limited to 120 lbs.
You must be at least 18 years old with a valid ID to rent our ebikes. We’re currently unable to accommodate children as riders on our ebikes due to insurance constraints. But, they can ride along with you on their bikes. We’ve had kiddos follow us when we ride & they typically have the energy & endurance to keep up!
Yes. All adult riders must sign our electric bike rental agreement. For riders or passengers younger than 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign a waiver for each minor.
If you do not have your own helmet, one will be provided. Riders and passengers must also wear closed-toe shoes for safety. Rentals require prepayment by credit card and a photo ID. Water and snacks are available. The only other thing we should warn you about - be prepared to fall in love with an ebike!
Problems with our ebikes are rare, but if you have an issue we will swap out your ebike with a replacement. If you need a ride back, we can provide that at no charge as well. We will never bill you for the time you spend waiting for a backup ebike, nor will we charge to replace a flat tire.
We monitor the weather forecast daily. If heavy rain is predicted, we allow you to reschedule at no charge. If light rain is predicted, we offer you the option to continue at your own discretion, or reschedule at no charge. For rentals that are out during bad weather. If this happens, we will call you the day before and either meet you to check the bike back in or do a free extension until the rain is done.
Due to overwhelming demand of our ebikes, we require a minimum 48-hour notice of cancellation. Any cancellation less than 48 hours will be charged a 25% fee (up to $50), or a gift card for the full amount can be provided (to be used at a later date). You can reschedule your ride at no additional cost. If the weather turns suddenly or shortens your experience, we will work with you to make everyone happy. If you don’t enjoy your tour, let us know and we’ll make it right. Typically, our only complaints are that riders don’t want their tour to end!
